We use the European Union's 'VIES' system (VAT Information Exchange System) for checking VAT numbers. There may be a delay between registering the VAT number and this number appearing on the VIES system, but usually a problem occurs when the number entered is not recognised by the VIES, e.g. if there is a space in the number.
You can test your VAT number in the VIES system by clicking here and experiencing how a VAT number is recognised on the VIES system. Once you know how to correctly enter the number, you can enter it the same way on your Brabantia B2B account. If your BTW number is not recognised by VIES at all, then there is a problem with the registration of the number. We advise you to contact the tax authorities, who will then need to make adjustment if necessary.
