Nowadays, most Brabantia cookware ranges are compatible with induction hobs.
They can be recognized with the universal ‘induction’ symbol, as below. This means the item is fitted with an induction base, having magnetic properties as required to be compatible with the induction hobs.
The actual functioning of the induction is also depending on the size of the induction hob and base of the cookware item.
Ideally, both the induction hob and the base of the cookware item have the same size. In reality this is not always possible, so the cookware items should always be used on the hob that’s the closest in size to the actual base.
In the case of cookware items with a small base, such as saucepans, woks, … the base size can be smaller than the smallest induction hob available. In some of these cases, the hob control software will determine the item as incompatible.
Therefore, it’s important to consider the limitations of your induction hob before purchasing cookware items with a small base.
The information about the proposed base sizes is usually mentioned in the instruction manual of the induction cooking top. If a cookware item is only heating up very slowly, it’s possible the hob size is just borderline ok and it’s actually switching on and off based on the compatibility detection software.
To minimize this effect, it’s advised to pay attention to the positioning of the cookware item which should be in the very center of the hob.
